It is a known fact that no one is actually expected from getting stressed, it doesn’t even matter how high or low each stress levels are. Children get stressed out too, especially when it comes to their grades or by simply getting frustrated with their video games. Teenagers often get stressed as well because of their difficulty fitting in or by getting confused with what kind of person they are, and most especially, what kind of career they basically want to pursue.
According to the newest study, the Millennial generation, or people who are in their 20’s till the early 30’s, are the ones who are most likely to get stressed. One of the reasons may be because they are currently still trying to fit into the real world. Then again, the main reasons why they are having a hard time doing so is because of money and work. Almost every single adult would have a feeling that they actually hate their jobs but need the money, this then caused people to be extremely stressed and unfortunately, some of them turn to alcohol and drugs.
Work and Money: Main Reasons For Stress
They say that money doesn’t make the world g round, and it is not the most important thing in the world. Then again, without money, it would literally be impossible for people to function and survive on their every day life. A person’s basic necessities consist of food and water, clothing, and shelter. There is no way that anyone would be able to have any of those without any money. There may be countries, like Australia, who actually provide these things to people who cannot afford to to survive, but obviously, there is still a budget that is needed.
In the United States, it is literally impossible to live a normal life if you don’t have any money. This would then cause anyone to literally stress out since they would not have any idea how they will be able to survive. This is when you would think that the solution to have money is to get a job. Which happens to be also something that stresses people out.
It is when you were younger when you started thinking of what kind of career you would want to have when you grow up, it all seems so great to fantasize but when you actually get to that point, it is way more difficult than what it seems to be. Getting a college degree is always expected to be difficult, but no one would ever tell a child that once they are done with their degree, they would most likely to have a job that they don’t like just to be able to pay off their college debt.
This is why most millennials are the ones who are considered to be the most stressed ones since they are at the age where they are currently paying it all off. Working just because you need to pay off a debt instead of earning money for your future self can definitely stress anyone out. Some people need to do two or more jobs just to be able to pay the bills and the debt. Unfortunately, all these stress often lead to some people giving up and just getting into addiction.
Stress Leads To Addiction
Almost everyone who is having substance abuse is stressed out. People who are busy being happy would not have time to actually drink so much and do drugs. People think that when they talk about stress, it is all about money and not having the career, what people don’t actually realize is that stress comes in all forms. Even those who have work and money can be stressed out too, it just so happens that there are more people who are struggling with money are getting into drugs and alcohol.
Experts believe that substance abuse is what people see as an escape to their reality, even if it wouldn’t really make things better, and that it will actually lead to worse things. Addiction is way more severe than any other illnesses because it could drive people to insanity, that ruin their lives even more. Some even have too much that leads to their untimely deaths, all because of stress.
